Mental Health Week is May 7-13, 2012

Consider this time as an opportunity to honour the prominent role of the human brain!

The brain is active throughout each and every day, even as we sleep, but do we ever stop to consider how heavily we rely on this amazing organ as the maker of our thoughts, actions, and perceptions? Having a clear understanding of how the brain works and what can impact how it functions, (such as nutrition), is a proactive approach to mental health.

Please contact us to arrange an information session or culinary demonstration where you will learn some valuable information that will empower you to mindfully incorporate healthy foods that have a positive impact on mood and mental wellness.

  • Self-help strategies: changing your body’s “blueprint”, shop for "mood foods", create delicious meals, keeping a "mood food" journal

Get Cooking! Discover The Impact of Food on Mental Health

Research is increasingly indicating a link between food and better mental health, including schizophrenia and psychosis. Recognizing this movement, The Schizophrenia Society of Ontario and Ontario based Mood Food Culinary are pleased to announce a strategic alliance. Through designated Mood Food cooking classes individuals can learn about how the food choices they make can positively affect the well-being of themselves and those around them. Each class also supports the work of this organization in helping the more than 130,000 people in Ontario living with schizophrenia.
